TRYCON launches UCITS III compliant absolute return fund

TRYCON G.C.M. AG has begun trading of its new UCITS III fund TRYCON Basic Invest HAIG (ISIN LU0451958309). In this second, more conservative fund, the German absolute return boutique invests in a wide range of financial markets, both long and short.

 

The fund pursues a multi-strategy approach, combining a range of purely systematic trend following and trend independent models. It intends to benefit from short, medium and long term movements in more than 30 international financial markets, taking long and short positions in listed derivatives of equity indices, interest rates, bonds and currencies. As a consequence, the strategy can generate

positive returns in different market conditions, independent of business cycles. The allocation is determined by a proprietary mathematical portfolio system which also controls the strict risk management of the fund.

 

“With the UCITS III structure we are preserving the benefits of an absolute return strategy whilst offering the additional advantages of a well-regulated environment, especially with regard to transparency and liquidity”, says TRYCON’s managing partner Michael Guenther. UCITS III alternative funds are finding increasing popularity thanks to their strict rules concerning leverage, counterparty risk and investments traded.

 

The product aims at a medium term annual return of 8 to 10 per cent and has an annualized target volatility of 6 to 8 per cent.

 

The Luxembourg fund offers daily liquidity. For the institutional share class, a management fee of 1.45 per cent p.a. is charged along with a performance fee of 20 per cent.

 

TRYCON G.C.M. AG was founded in 2002 and is based in Frankfurt, Germany. It has been advising another systematic investment fund since June 2007. Both Luxembourg-domiciled products were set up with and are administered by Hauck & Aufhaeuser Investment Gesellschaft S.A., a subsidiary of German private bank Hauck & Aufhaeuser.
