Salus Alpha RN Special Situations approved for public distribution in Germany

(Gamprin/Vienna, 2010-07-06) With immediate effect Salus Alpha’s latest product, Salus Alpha RN Special Situations (ISIN AT0000A0GZ08 (Accumulator), ISIN AT0000A0GYY7 (Distributor)) is registered for public distribution in Germany. The fund had a grandiose start, since the launch on 22 March the fund raised USD 25 million from new investors. The fund was up 3.14% after its first month and has an outstanding YTD performance of 2.85%.
The fund exploits opportunities in special situations, such as Merger and Acquisitions opportunities, changes in capital structure, Management Changes, share buy backs, Director's Dealings, IPOs or capital increases, Index changes or profit surprises. All these special situations offer the opportunity to make profit even in falling markets.
A recent example demonstrating the potential of special situations is the acquisition of Eco Business by Conwert, were Salus Alpha RN Special Situations could participate. The fund has invested in shares of Eco Business, on the expectation that the price will be improved and due to the new offer from Conwert this strategy worked exactly as planned. The fund made an impressive positive performance. „The offer is fair and a good deal for all, particularly considering that most Real Estate shares are trading at 50% discount to NAV“, says Roland Neuwirth, Salus Alpha RN Special Situation’s manager.
Salus Alpha RN Special Situations is deliberately geared to no benchmark and tries to attain a performance of 10 to 15% p.a. and a Shape Ratio of over 1. The fund is, like all Salus Alpha funds, UCITS III compliant, daily liquid and 100% transparent.
